Frequently Asked Questions

Implantology

Is it possible to experience rejection to the material of the dental implant?

The material used in dental implants is titanium which is biocompatible and does not cause "rejection", however, in some cases, there may be a small failure rate usually associated with postoperative infections or after the artificial tooth comes into operation. For this reason, regular monitoring is essential during maintenance visits.

Can I have dental implants?

In order to achieve success in the implant treatment, you need to have good oral and general health. You must have adequate bone to provide support for the implant, and you should not have periodontal gum disease. However, if the amount of bone is not sufficient, there are cases where bone regeneration using bone grafts is possible.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants act as artificial tooth roots placed in the mandible or maxilla to serve as support for porcelain teeth. Despite the surgical step, dental implants are more conservative than the works with fixed bridges, since implants do not rely on adjacent teeth, avoiding to wear them.
